There’s a whole lot of inspiration out there if you go looking (motivational quote rabbit holes!) so I’ve put a few of my favourites in one blog post for you to read, repeat, use as mantras, print off…whatever works for you. These are to remind you that you deserve the success you’re achieving. You are working hard and inspiring others!

There’s not been a single day in We Are Brilliant Business Builders private group that I haven’t felt super-inspired by the members in there. Seeing your businesses grow and watching you flex your new found self-confidence is incredible and each day I pop into the group to see what else you’ve been achieving in the business arena and beyond. But we all have days where the world feels like it’s against you, and that’s when these nuggets come into their own.

“As far as self-confidence goes, so much of social media is about approval, getting likes, comparing our lives to others’ – meanwhile, confidence is an inside job: it’s about how you feel about yourself regardless of what anyone else does or thinks. It’s a knowing that you’re human, you’re flawed, and you’re awesome in your own way.
— Jen Sincero, You Are A Badass At Making Money

“Fearlessness is like a muscle. I know from my own life that the more I exercise it the more natural it becomes to not let my fears run me.”

— Arianna Huffington, Editor-In-Chief of Huffington Post

“I learned to always take on things I’d never done before. Growth and comfort do not coexist.”
— Virginia Rometty, CEO of IBM

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be?”

— Marianne Williamson, Founder of Centers for Living & Author of Return to Love

“Talk to yourself like you would to someone you love.”
— Brene Brown

“Find the smartest people you can and surround yourself with them.

— Marissa Meyer, CEO of Yahoo!

“Don’t be intimidated by what you don’t know. That can be your greatest strength and ensure that you do things differently from everyone else.”
— Sara Blakely, founder of Spanx

“Whatever you do, be different – that was the advice my mother gave me, and I can’t think of better advice for an entrepreneur. If you’re different, you will stand out.”

— Anita Roddick, founder of The Body Shop

“Whatever it is that you think you want to do, and whatever it is that you think stands between you and that, stop making excuses. You can do anything.”
— Katia Beauchamp, co-founder and CEO of Birchbox.

“Confidence is 10 percent hard work and 90 percent delusion — just thinking foolishly that you will be able to do what you want to do.”

— Tina Fey

“Confidence and leadership are muscles. You learn to use them or you learn not to. If you are afraid to speak up at a meeting, every time you force yourself to do it, you get better at it. If you’re afraid to take your seat at the table, every time you take your seat at the table and you realize no one tells you to go get back to the back row, you learn to do it.”
— Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook

“No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.”

— Eleanor Roosevelt

“Am I good enough? Yes I am.”
— Michelle Obama

Believing in yourself and being your own cheerleader are fundamental to your success. However, I can’t tell you enough how much easier this female founder life is when you’ve got a whole gang of incredible women behind you, and that’s why I’ve set up my membership, We Are Brilliant Business Builders. Being involved gives you endless opportunities to sound out ideas, to ask for advice and to help others too. All ways to develop your self-confidence!
